Humane bat exclusion across Nevada
Bat exclusion is the professional standard: let bats leave on their own schedule, then close every gap so they cannot come back. Nevada Wildlife Specialists designs exclusion systems for Las Vegas Valley stucco, Reno craftsman stock, and commercial envelopes—never poison, never sealed-in colonies.
One-way devices, done correctly
Exclusion tubes, netting, and valves must match the opening type and bat species behavior. Improper mesh can strand bats or push them into living spaces. We size and place devices after mapping primary and secondary exits, then monitor until activity stops before final sealing.
Sealing that lasts on desert and mountain buildings
Southern Nevada sees extreme UV and thermal cycling; northern Nevada adds freeze-thaw. We use materials suited to stucco, tile, fascia, brick, metal roofs, and vinyl—so seals hold through seasons, not just until the next inspection. We do not use spray foam.
Seasonality and maternity timing
Maternity colonies commonly peak May–August in western states. We discuss NDOW-aware windows on every consultation so exclusion does not strand flightless young. When needed, we stage temporary measures and schedule permanent exclusion when it is appropriate.
Repairs that blend in
We do not use spray foam. We use custom inserts and clear products so finished entry points are discreet—it is very hard to tell we were ever there. Gaps 1/8" and up get clear, paintable exterior sealant; larger gaps and metal-roof ribs get custom-cut inserts set flush then sealed; vents and chimneys get mesh, hardware cloth, flashing, and bat-proof caps; brick gets mortar repair where needed; weep holes get proper covers and are never sealed solid. Optional stucco and paint blending keeps patches invisible from the curb.
